GOAB: A TV Experience Concept
New technical possibilities are the mainspring of the today’s television. The needs of the viewers seem secondary.
Today, watching tv can mean a lot of things: TV via Internet, web content via TV, video on demand, IPTV, cable, satellite, DVB-T, mobile television, etc.
But, how do we want to watch tv in the future?
This is an interesting take on dual screening for TV and iPad.
A lovely interface that is easy to use, and in-show information on whatever you are watching.
This dual-screening seems to have taken off since Heineken Star-player by AKQA.
Toyota Vision Multi-touch Wall
This is a brilliantly executed piece from Toyota.
A Larger-Than-Life Experience
At this year’s North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, Toyota wanted to tell the story of the all-new Toyota Prius in an engaging way that could extend beyond the show floor. In response, Project: WorldWide’s GPJ and Juxt Interactive developed “Toyota Vision” - a large-scale multi-touch screen installation with remarkable content.
The interactive experience consisted of three side-by-side, 82” multi-touch LCD screens, showing the life span of the product experience from the factory, to the showroom, to the street. When visitors touched the screen, a graphic hand interface appeared, indicating options of exploration - visitors could learn about the creation of Toyota products, read product details and hear from owners.
And there was a lot to explore - along with photos and custom content, visitors could view over 50 videos. “Toyota Vision” extended into the social networking and mobile worlds too with links to the Toyota fan page on Facebook and QR codes that enabled users to access content to their mobile device instantly.
Visitors could also access a list of local Toyota dealers. The dealer list provided location and clear contact information of all retailers within a predetermined radius of the show floor. As part of a lead generation initiative, a GPJ Connect function allowed the audience to submit their names and email contacts to Toyota directly, while the program simultaneously sent all generated leads from the floor back to a hand-raiser database for future brand and model-specific communication.
Through 60 square feet of engaging, educational and entertaining content, “Toyota Vision” multi-touch wall experience captured the interest of visitors and press alike.
It was an amazing project to bring to life.
Beautiful kinetic graffiti engine by Interaction Designer Jean-Christophe Naour.
His whole portfolio is worth checking out really, he’s got some great interactive projects and interface design under his belt.
Aliens Stole My Beer!
A body and sound controlled Space Invaders style game at Miller Freshtival. Your body is the controller and your voice is the trigger.
Looks fun, plus they gave away a free drink after each game.
Following on this post about NuFormer 3D the worlds first ever user generated projection mapping event by Wrigley’s 5 Gum has showed its head.
Internet users were able to create their own projections, and for viewers at the projection to change what happens while they are there using iPads at the show.
NuFormer 3D Video Mapping Interactivity Test
A short video showcasing some of the new technologies from NuFormer for projection mapping.
Some interesting interactivity with full iPad control, Kinect, iPhone and social network implementation. We’ve kind of seen it all before, just not combined with projection mapping.
DCS, a Brazilian advertising agency, have created an interactive iPad ad that allows the user to experience how easy it is to cook with Tramontina Starflon Pan (non stick). With this ad, the user can move the iPad, simulating actual cooking.
Not entirely realistic, but a fun little concept.
Users can visit mas.be and choose one of the five live guides standing on the different floors of the MAS. You can then control one of these physical persons from your computer to take you on a tour of the museum. You can indicate where you want to go with your keyboard’s arrow keys.
Bizarre.
Cannes: YouTube Interactive Music Machine
The Cannes Lions creative challenge “YouTube Good Work” entries have been submitted and it’s great to see some really innovative ideas being developed to help such good causes. This one caught our eye as it incorporates a very simple concept with a new twist to create something fun.
Your keyboard becomes the controller, with keys 2 to 8 triggering different sounds.
Very cool.
